JULY 29, 2014-- This is the 31st year drum and bugle corps from all over the country have come to Erie and are taking the field at Vet Stadium for the Lake Erie Fanfare. This year’s competition features prestigious groups from the Drum Corps Internationals International World Class Division. Corps from Washington, Oregon, California, Wyoming, New Jersey, Canada and more are all in Erie for the event. The groups travel all across the country to compete and spend hours on end preparing for their performances. Thousands filled into the stands at Veterans Stadium for this year’s Lake Erie Fanfare. Officials say this activity gives young musicians the chance to learn life skills and keeps them on a positive track for the future. In this years competition the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps from Denver, Colorado took home first, the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps from Madison, Wisconsin took home second, and in third place was the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps from Casper, Wyoming.
