One of Erie's well known landmarks will light up as the Perry 200 two year bicentennial celebration comes to an end.
Organizers say September 8th will be a memorable and historic event as the Perry 200 celebration comes to a close and the Perry Monument is lit up.
There will be LED lights at the base of the monument and at the top.
The lights will operate by a solar panel located near the monument.
The Erie Philharmonic is part of the ceremony and will play symphonies including the 1812 Overture before the light is lit.
The restoration project costs 110 thousand dollars and comes from the Crosby, Stills and Nash concert held by the Presque Isle Partnership.
