Lane Restriction Scheduled for Next Week on I-79 North

A daytime lane restriction will be in place beginning Monday, Sept. 8, on I-79 North between Cranberry Township and mile marker 80 to repair the edge line pavement joints. This is a moving operation, once these joints are repaired, work will move to the southbound lanes.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and minimize distractions in the work zone. Use two lanes to the merge and take your turn merging. Be patient and drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting . 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 700 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.

This $1,749,837 joint repair project is being constructed by Russell Standard Corporation and is expected to be completed in October.
