A new study shows LECOM’s economic national impact is nearly $600 million.
Officials say the college acts as an anchor to the community through new jobs, tax revenues and construction and renovation projects.
The impact has increased by 80 percent in comparison to 2009 when the economic impact was a little more than $328 million.
Officials anticipate the college's economic impact to increase over the next five years, especially because several new projects are in the works.
