Erie, PA: Life’s a Beach Triathlon, a fun and accessible triathlon, will travel to Presque Isle State Park for the first time on Saturday, starting at Beach 11 at 8 a.m. The event follows a traditional triathlon format but adds non-traditional amenities to make it family-friendly and accessible to a broader group of participants.

The event will begin with a 200-yard “almost anything goes” swim in Lake Erie in which participants are encouraged to use boogie boards, floaties or flippers to complete the swim. The race continues with a 5-mile fat-tire bike ride and concludes with a 2-mile run broken up by fun obstacles. The race will finish at Beach 11.

Awards for Top Dude and Top Dudette are given to the top finishers in each age group, and awards for Top Slacker are given to the male and female who enjoyed the event the most, finishing last.

Event check-in for participants will begin at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday at Beach 11. Registration will be available the morning of the event for $85. Registration is open to participants age 9 and over. Life’s a Beach Triathlon is donating $1 of every paid race entry to Presque Isle Partnership.
