A 13-year-old from Erie is going Hollywood by appearing in a 20th Century Fox film.

Producers were looking for athletic kids to film a scene in the movie “Let's Be Cops.” Jack Gallagher is a basketball player at Walnut Creek. A casting director saw pictures of him playing ball on his dad's Facebook page, and he landed the role.

Gallagher went to Atlanta to film his scene in May of 2013. The movie stars Damon Wayans Jr. and Jake Johnson. Jack Gallagher even made it into the trailer for the movie. He can be seen diving onto the field during a game of pick-up football.

The premier in Los Angeles is August 7th. “Let's Be Cops” premiers in theaters around the country on August 13th.

Men’s Wearhouse is donating tuxes to Gallagher and eight of his basketball teammates so they can attend the Erie premier in style. Jack’s mother, who is suffering from brain cancer, will be his date if she is well enough. They hope to share the special experience together.
