Locals Waiting for Sheetz to Break Ground
JUNE 3, 2014-- Almost a year ago Sheetz Gas Station was fighting to build on the corner of
8th Street and Peninsula Drive. The Millcreek Supervisors finally approved the plan in July of 2013. Now that land still stands vacant and over-grown. The original plan had Sheetz breaking ground on the project this spring but according to Millcreek zoning there have been no permits issued yet that would allow them to begin construction. Zoning administrators say they need that permit before they can begin to build. Local businesses and residents are looking forward to it and are hoping the project brings more people to the area and isn't too much of an eye sore. But they say it will definitely look better than the land does right now.
