Man Dies in Tractor-Trailer Accident

July 1, 2014- A tractor-trailer driver has died after a tree fell on the cab of his truck while he was driving. The accident happened on Monday around 3 p.m. on Route 27 in Pittsfield Township, about 2 miles west of its intersection with Route 6.

According to Pennsylvania State Police in Warren, Lanny Ross, 57, of Oil City was traveling westbound on Route 27 when a tree fell from the north edge of the roadway. That tree fell onto the cab of the truck, killing Ross. The truck continued down the road for about 250 feet before coming to a stop.

Ross was pronounced dead at the scene by Warren County Coroner Jerry Borden.
