Man Pleads Guilty in DUI Homicide Case

July 8, 2014 - An Erie man who is responsible for a two car crash that took the life of another man entered a plea in court. Jesse Shields pleaded guilty to homicide by motor vehicle while DUI, DUI and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

It was November of 2012 when Shields crossed over the center line and collided with Ronald Waite's minivan. Waite died at the scene of the Route 8 Union City crash.

Today in court, Shields admitted to driving while under the influence of fentanyl and marijuana. Shields faces up to 10 years behind bars.

His sentencing is scheduled for September 24 at 9 a.m.
