A semi truck went off the road and down into a ravine in the median on I-79 just before the Edinboro exit at 11 am today. The truck was transporting milk and dumped approximately 300 one gallon containers onto the ground.
Edinboro and Hayfield Fire departments and Pennsylvania State Police responded to the scene.
The driver is reported to have stated that he hit a patch of ice while traveling north bound causing him to lose control of the truck.
The driver was pulled up to the roadside by the firemen using ropes and a rescue basket. He suffered minor injuries and was transported to UPMC Hamot .
No word at this time if any charges are pending.
