MARCH 4, 2014-
A Millcreek dentist accused of forging prescriptions for narcotics for his own use waives a charge to trial in his drug case.
52-year-old doctor Kevin Mahoney of Mahoney Family Dentistry in Millcreek is facing a felony charge.
This afternoon he waived a consolidated count of obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation, forgery, fraud, and deceit.
This was reached through an agreement with prosecutors.
Drug enforcement investigators say Mahoney used patients’ names and forged prescriptions, citing he would use the drugs during patient procedures.
Mahoney's attorney confirms he successfully completed rehab in Chicago following his arrest in an effort to comply with a reduced bail agreement.
