Today was the 7th annual National Record Store Day and local record stores were packed with music fans and customers taking advantage of exclusive vinyl album releases, and more, from a wide-range of music artists.

The annual Record Store Day is a day for music fans to celebrate the culture surrounding vinyl albums and independently-owned record shops.

Every year, independent record stores anticipate the rush of customers that come with the limited number of special edition albums sent to these independently-owned stores participating in record store day.

Michael graham, owner of Graham's Records located on W. 26th Street in Erie, said the turnout for today surpassed his expectations.
Graham said people were lined up at the door and wrapped all the way around the corner of his shop before 10 a.m. this morning when the store opened.

What started by a group of independent record store owners in Baltimore seven years ago has turned into a national celebration.
