The Erie Bureau of Police is back to its full compliment after a life-long Erie resident joins the department.

Tony Stewart is the newest addition to the police department.

He's a Penn State University graduate with a degree in criminal justice.

Mayor Joe Sinnott swore him in today saying he was in the top two percent of the Pennsylvania Police Academy.

Before becoming a police officer Stewart worked at the Barber National Institute.

Stewart replaces long-time officer Pete Dregalla.
