Niagara Falls Man Sentenced for Robbing Banks

July 15, 2014-  A Niagara Falls man who pleaded guilty to robbing two area banks is sentenced this morning.
Scott Dimond learning his fate for robbing the Northwest Savings Bank and First National Bank in Summit Township.
Dimond was sentenced to serve three to ten years behind bars.
He was also ordered to pay court costs but not restitution.
According to State Police, Dimond went inside the Northwest Savings Bank and gave a note to a teller demanding money while an accomplice waited in the getaway car.
After fleeing the scene, the vehicle was later stopped by troopers on I-90 in Harborcreek and the two suspects were taken into custody.
Dimond did not show a weapon during the robbery...
He and his accomplice reportedly got away with more than $15,000.
