Nose Gear Fails On Plane

A very close call as the nose gear on a US Airways plane failed on take-off at Philadelphia International Airport.

Pilots on US Airways flight 1702 to Florida were forced to abort takeoff after the landing collapsed, and a tire blew.

There were 149 passengers aboard the plane.

The frantic passengers sliding down the emergency chutes on the runway sprinting from the smoking plane...

The airport was briefly shutdown and all planes were grounded.
