Pennsylvania State Treasurer Rob McCord, joined by representatives of several leading public and private institutions in the fields of finance and energy, will announce on Wednesday the creation of a national partnership to bring low-cost financing on a large scale to home energy efficiency improvement.

The press conference will take place at Margaret Morrison Hall on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University, 5000 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9.

The partnership is the result of a years-long collaboration among parties from around the county, led by the state Treasury, to increase low-cost capital available for home energy efficiency loans nationwide as well as in Pennsylvania. It will help homeowners to save money and improve their homes while reducing greenhouse gases. It will also create a new type of asset in investment markets.
