April 8, 2014 - PennDOT is preparing to make entering and leaving the peninsula safer for pedestrians and bikers.

New safety measures will be put into place later this spring by PennDOT.

The speed limit will be lowered from 35 mph to 25 mp hour between the Tom Ridge Environmental Center and the park.

There will also be a "speed table" put into place, which basically consists of a three inch platform for pedestrians to walk across, and crossing signs will also be installed.

Construction is set to begin in May, and PennDOT is hoping to get funding for this project.
