Presque Isle State Park has had a successful summer with the help of the Perry 200, but numbers are still down. From January until the end of August, the park is down 185,000 visitors, partially due to poor weather in June and July. Trail use is up and beach use is slightly down. However, the success of the Perry 200 events has helped the park over the last few months, and sparked a renewed interest in local history. Many more people have been visiting the Perry Monument.
