An area of Presque Isle State Park often closed to the public will be open for a brief time next week.

Gull Point will get a spring clean-up to help protect the birds and you can help make that happen.

A little spring cleaning is needed at Presque Isle State Park in order to protect our wildlife.

Gull Point is one of the locations that needs your help the most.

On Saturday, March 29th the sandy shoreline will need to be cleaned up in order to protect the birds.

The waves washed debris up onto the shoreline, depositing the trash right onto the beach.

And you can volunteer to help pick up the litter and make the area safe for our feathered friends.

Several dozen people are already registered.

You can call the Tom Ridge Center to join the clean-up.

Gloves and trash bags will be handed out.

Registered volunteers will meet at gull point trailhead in the beach 10 parking lot at nine a- m on the 29th.
