If you love a great hike through Presque Isle, why not take a night hike? The Presque Isle After Dark program continues with a night hike along Long Pond Trail. On February 7th, join Environmental Educators on a night hike. No flashlights will be used because your eyes will adjust to the night. You'll look and listen for wildlife on the park. This time of year, owls can often be heard, and an occasional beaver, deer or other animal may cross your path. Park naturalists may bring along the night vision goggles so you can detect animals in the woods or in trees. If you're interested, the program starts at 6:30 and you can meet in the East Pier parking lot. No registration is required, and the hike is free. Dress for the weather, and wearing boots is recommended because the trail will not be plowed.
