May 15, 2014 - Local police officers were getting a lesson on two wheels this morning.

Six Erie Police Officers, four Meadville Police Officers and an adult probation officer were practicing basic cycling skills today.

It's part of the International Police Mountain Bike class.

They had to ride in a 9X9 box, complete a serpentine drill and slow handling skills.

The bike patrol is an added benefit for departments that are able to get out into the neighborhoods more easily on bikes.

Today's bike course wrapped up a week long event of classes for officers.
