The Daddio of the Raddio has signed off.

He was 96 years old.

His career started in 1948.

He soon became famous for introducing R&B to the Pittsburgh market which he called Rock and Roll with soul.

Music experts say he was part of the soundtrack of Pittsburgh's history and you can still hear some of his radio shows at the rock and roll hall of fame.

Porky Chedwick appeared at live events well into his 90's including many summer nights at Conneaut Lake Park's Dreamland Ballroom and Beach Club at the once popular do-wop weekends.
