It's seems fires are striking even more often this year than during a typical winter, and that's creating a challenge for the American Red Cross.
Since January 1st, the Erie area Red Cross has helped families in 22 incidents that left 72 people homeless.
Because of the unusually high numbers of incidents, the Red Cross disaster relief funds have been depleted.
The executive director at the local Red Cross says the Red Cross will continue to work with families suffering from disasters until they find a new place to live.
