Renovations For Downtown YMCA

A 515 thousand dollar renovation will soon be underway at the Erie downtown YMCA.

Early investors kicked off the renovation project today as they used a sledge hammer to whack a hole in the wall on the fifth floor at the y.

The renovation project will take place in a more than 53 hundred square foot vacant space.

It will accomodate needs for the teen program that deals with social, behavioral, emotional, educational and recreational needs of erie's youth.

The y has nearly half the total amount of money it needs for the project. But the erie community foundation is urging the community to chip in. .

The renovations are expected to begin within the next month.
