Rep. Kelly to Highlight How Pennsylvania Residents Can File Their Taxes Easily and For Free

- IRS, State Free File Programs Empower Eligible Pennsylvania Residents To File Their Taxes Online At No Cost

On Monday, February 24, Rep. Mike Kelly (PA-03) will be in Sharon to urge lower and moderate income Pennsylvania residents to use the Free File program to prepare and file their taxes for free.

The Free File program is a partnership between the IRS and brand name tax software companies that provides eligible taxpayers free use of their tax software products.

Eligible Pennsylvania residents can file both their federal and state returns for free because Pennsylvania has entered into the same partnership with several of these tax software companies.

In general, individuals and families with an Adjusted Gross Income of $58,000 or less can use Free File, which not only saves on the cost of tax preparation, but also helps taxpayers keep as much of their hard earned refund as possible.

Following the briefing, local community organizations and interested individuals will be able to experience one of the Free File products to demonstrate how easily one can file.
