Thanks to some funding from the state, the project was able to move along, and now it is complete. Port Authority Executive Director Ray Schreckengost said ships will be able to move all the way into the dock, doubling the number of vessels that can be there safely; "The whole slip now is a working slip, they can do top-side repair, they can tie them up whatever they want to do and it's really set up for the shipyard to be able to use the entire thing."
Schreckengost said that these repairs will stand the test of time.
