Rowry Sentenced in Shooting of Teacher's Aid

MARCH 11, 2014- An Erie man who admitted to shooting a teacher's aid multiple times in the head near a local elementary school learns his fate in court.
47-year-old Derrick Rowry was sentenced to 10 to 20 years behind bars in the shooting of McKinley Elementary School teacher's aid Tamara Logan.
Rowry told prosecutors he shot Logan four times in the head back in May because of a bad breakup and paranoia.
Logan played dead and then got up and walked into the school for help.
During court today, Rowry apologized to Logan.
Logan said she accepted his apology and hoped that Rowry gets help.
In addition to serving up to 20 years behind bars, Rowry must seek mental health treatment and take anger management courses.
