Held on the second Saturday of each summer month May – Sept., the Second Saturday Community
Market(SSCM) is a festival held in downtown Meadville. Located in the Market House Square, the Second
Saturday Community Market takes place in conjunction with
Pennsylvania’s longest‐running Farmers’ Market,
held each Saturday at the Market House.
Once again, Second Saturday Community Market will provide a venue for Meadville‐region residents to sell
items that are handmade, homemade, homegrown, or otherwise locally‐produced within 75 miles of
In 2014, the Market will again hold five months of themed markets: Spring Celebration on May 10, Healthy
Living on June 14, Art in Action on July 12, Kids’ Day on Aug. 9 and Harvest Festival on Sept. 13. Each market
will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vendor applications are juried, and vendors may sell at a maximum of three
markets per year, with a maximum of two consecutive markets.
The fee to apply is $11, and there is a $10 booth fee per market. While they are not required, canopies are
recommended, as all vending spaces are outdoors and not under cover. Vendors are responsible to provide
any tables, chairs displays and canopies for their booths. Vendors are encouraged to consider the theme of
each market when applying.
Each Second Saturday Market will also feature live music, entertainment and activities for children. There is no
charge for admission to the SSCM.
