Second Saturday Community Market slated for May 10

- Old man winter has finally released his hold on northwestern Pennsylvania, and just in time, to, as the Second Saturday Community Market’s (SSCM) first market of the season is Saturday, May 10.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Market House Square will be a’buzz with vendors and exhibitors, live music and entertainment, demonstrations of beekeeping, easel painting, spinning and weaving, and more.

Live music will be played by Matt Burchfield (9-10:30 a.m.), Michael Wayne (10:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.), and The Jack Pines(12:30 – 2 p.m.).

Be sure to bring the kids, as the ever-popular Magic Steve will be roving from 9 to 11 a.m. , face painting will be offered by The Learning Center, and Meadville Council on the Arts’ Kids’ Craft Station will be open.

Still looking for the perfect Mother’s Day gift? Look no further, as the Market Square will be packed with vendors selling locally-made art, jewelry, crafts, fabric, locally-grown produce, locally-made foods, and more!

“We’re really excited about our opening Second Saturday Community Market,” SSCM Marketing & Development Coordinator Amber Wellington said.

“Vendor and Community Relations Coordinator Tracy Scott has been working hard to find great vendors and entertainers to showcase in this first market of the season. “

Second Saturday Community Market is located in the Meadville Market House Square at 910 Market Street in downtown Meadville.
