Shriners Erie Receives Largest Donation in Its 87 year History

June 3, 2014 - Shriners Hospital in Erie is getting a hefty donation that will help the hospital give children the care they need.

Shriners Erie announced the receipt of a bequest totaling $14.75 million to be shared equally between the Erie and Cincinnati Shriners facilities. This bequest was from the estate of the late Fred Burchfield, he was a member of the Tadmor Shriners of Akron, Ohio. It is the largest single gift ever received at the Erie Shriners facility in its 87 year history.

The more than $7 million in funds will be used to advance the mission of Shriners Hospitals to provide orthopedic medical care to children regardless of the families.
