Students Watch Volunteers Tap Maple Trees

March 18, 2014 - First grade students got a lesson in tapping maple trees at Asbury Woods Nature Center this morning.

Students from Grandview had a busy morning learning about the process to make syrup.

They were in the classroom and outside checking out the trees and then saw the boiling method.

Volunteers say they're getting a late start this year tapping the trees because the bitter cold winter.
