Jim Horn got a big surprise today when a member of the Erie Thunderbirds Drum & Bugle Corps presented him with a Thunderbirds marching shirt. Jim lost his in a fire back in march that also claimed the life of a dear friend.

Horn was critically injured in the fire and spent weeks recovering at a Pittsburgh hospital, and several weeks at an Erie rehab facility. He's now recovering at Saint Mary's East and his one goal was to be better in time to be able to watch and listen to his Thunderbirds once again.

Family members say this is an extra special time because they did not expect Jim to recover from his injuries, but the hope of seeing the Thunderbirds and attending the Perry 200 parade helped in his recovery.

Jim will turn 80 years old on Memorial day.
