Tops Market Robbed

A Washington, PA woman is charged with robbery today after demanding money from a store cashier.

Police responded to reports of a robbery at Tops Friendly Markets on East 38th Street before 10 a.m. today.

Yvonne Kennedy faces charges including robbery, terroristic threats, and fleeing or attempting to elude police. Erie Police Chief Randy Bowers says she handed over a note to a cashier demanding money. She fled the supermarket and was later apprehended after a police pursuit.

Chief Bowers credits the officers for making a quick arrest in the latest robbery in the city.
