A day that started out cold and somewhat gloomy turned into a day of sunshine at the Conneaut Fish and Game Club. More than 330 eager anglers tossed their fishing lines into the clubs pond Saturday morning in hopes of catching that prize-winning trout. The 49th annual trout fishing derby was in memory of Willard Willie Hall, derby founder and long-time member of the club. After receiving their free fishing pole, purchasing earth worms or maggots for bait at a nominal fee, the young fishers experienced the joys of baiting their hook, tangled fishing lines, stolen bait, the-one-that-got-a-way and last, but certainly the best, catching their first trout.
