January 14, 2014 - State police have released the name of the man killed in a car crash Saturday night in Summit Township.

The victim has been identified as 76 year old Albert Metheney of Meadville.

He was driving a car southbound on Route 97 yesterday when police say he drifted into the north bound lane and struck an oncoming vehicle.

The impact from that crash caused the victim’s vehicle to leave the roadway, travel down an embankment into the parking lot of Presque Isle Downs and Casino, and then strike the concrete base of a light pole.

The driver of the other car, 36 year old Keith Schultz of Waterford, was not hurt and was able to drive his car into the casino parking lot to provide aide to the other driver.
