Folks gathered tonight at Perry Square across from the federal courthouse for a vigil advocating marriage equality for all.

Members of Marriage Equality USA and Marriage Equality for PA hosted the vigil to draw attention to what the LBGTQ community says is Pennsylvania's open discrimination against the LBGTQ community despite numerous cases, including ones before the Supreme Court, guaranteeing the fundamental right to marriage.

Organizers of the vigil also presented Mike Mahler, a longtime advocate for LBGTQ rights in Northwest Pennsylvania, with the ME4PA Equality Award for his public service promoting and protecting the rights of the LBGTQ community in the commonwealth.
