Wind and rain didn't stop 16 volunteers from digging trenches this morning at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Erie.

The volunteers were preparing the site for the conduit and electrical wiring needed to light the memorial. Each panel will have two lights, one on each side, and the main panel will be illuminated by two floodlights.

Church and Murdock Electric is donating all the labor and materials needed to wire and light the memorial.

A dedication ceremony is set for Memorial Day, May 26, at 1 p.m.
