February 26, 2014 - Tonight, it's safe to say Austin Hawk, 16, of Warren was completely surprised.

He's a teenager who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma: a cancer of the bone. He’s in the Make-A-Wish program. He's even had part of his leg amputated.

For years, all he's wanted was a dog and it took everything in mom Tami Silvers’ power to not tell him that his wish would come true at tonight's basketball game.

Tonight, several Make-A-Wish kids were recognized during the men's basketball game at EU and Austin unsuspectingly took a seat at center court at halftime not knowing he'd be surprised by the dog of his dreams: Leila, a gray pitbull puppy.

Tonight, the EU athletic department was recognized for raising more than nine thousand dollars for Make-A-Wish. They’re hoping to raise $10 thousand this year.
