Seven city employees charged with stealing auto parts to be used at the city's municipal garage have now lost their jobs.

Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott says the seven city employees charged in connection to theft of auto parts were fired last week.

Sinnott says NAPA auto parts records showed major inconsistencies ... Finding thefts of parts from NAPA, which were to be used in the city's municipal garage.

Mayor Sinnott says the employees could lose their pension, but that will be officially determined by the outcome of the criminal case.

Rob Munro has been appointed as the new bureau chief of the garage.
