A proponent of the compassionate use of medicinal cannabis, Senator Sean D. Wiley (D-Erie) released the following statement:
“I commend the governor for changing his stance on this critical issue.
There are children in this Commonwealth who are in living in chronic pain and suffering multiple severe seizures each and every day of their young lives.
This is a step toward ensuring that they are offered the relief they need and deserve.
“I also give a tremendous amount of credit to Senator Folmer for his efforts to continually push the importance of this issue.
He has shared the heartbreaking stories of children who are facing critical health challenges; children whose lives may be improved through the medical use of cannabis.
“As one of the first co-sponsors to support Senator Folmer’s Senate Bill 1182, I look forward to working with my Senate colleagues to pass legislation that will allow the use of medicinal cannabis by those who need it the most,” said Wiley.
