Erie man dead in Crawford County shooting

Brawl at overnight, outdoor party leads to one dead

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Pa. -- Pennsylvania State Police have confirmed that they are conducting a homicide investigation as a result of fatal shooting that happened at a large outdoor party near Teepleville Flats and Eddies roads in Athens Township.

The victim, 21-year-old Jimmy Edward Johnson, of Erie, was shot twice by a unknown assailant after an argument broke out.

Prior to the arrival of police, friends of Johnson drove him in a private vehicle to the Meadville Medical Center, where he died. 

State Police are investigating and have activated their Major Crimes Unit.
