PI-365: Halloween for Dogs

- Halloween isn't just for the kids anymore, it's going to the dogs.
Jessica Starr tells us about a doggie trick-or-treat in this week's PI-365.

Fido might want to get in on the Halloween action this year.
Grab the leash, perhaps a puppy costume, and head to the doggie trick-or-treat at the Stull Center on Sunday.

Stacy Marendt, environmental educator, said: "It's fun to dress your dog up and to come out and go trick- or-treat and you don't want to take your dogs trick or treating with little kids."

This is a Halloween hike tailored to pooches. A park naturalist will be at the event with you, as well as local companies and organizations set up with booths for you to learn more and snag some dog treats. It's fun and educational.

Stacy, "We're going to learn how your dog relates in the canine family and different other wild animals on Presque Isle State Park, that it's actually related to. And also there's going to be booths set up to learn about ticks."

Jessica Starr, yourerie.com, said: "This is considered to be the perfect place for the event because Old Lake Road is always closed off to traffic."

"It's actually a closed off road, and it's a whole entire road, a lot of people come here in order to walk their dogs."

The event will happen rain or shine, this Sunday, October 27th from one to three in the afternoon.
No registration is necessary. Costume prizes will be awarded at 2:30.
For PI-365 I'm Jessica Starr.
