Pymatuning Wildlife Learning Center Reconstruction

- The Pennsylvania Game Commission has announced the Pymatuning Wildlife Learning Center located at 12590 Hartstown Road, Linesville, Pennsylvania will undergo reconstruction.

The $1.8 million project is projected to begin late this spring and be completed by the fall of 2015.

The new facility will have approximately 9,000 square feet of space; which will include an area for exhibits, educational displays, and a multi-purpose wing for teacher workshops and various educational programming.

A wing on the opposite side of the building will house the functions currently being conducted at the Pymatuning Wildlife Administration Building located at 9552 Hartstown Road, Hartstown, Pennsylvania.

The facility is locally known as the Waterfowl Management Area.

Northwest Region Director Keith E. Harbaugh said, “We welcome the opportunity to replace two older buildings that are costly to maintain and operate with a modern facility.”

The Pymatuning Wildlife Learning Center will be closed during the demolition and construction process.
“The best location for the new building is the current site of the existing facility. The short term loss of the facility for the long term benefit makes this a worthwhile project.” Harbaugh said, “Operation will continue as usual at the Pymatuning Wildlife Administration Building. Once construction is completed, operations will transition to the new facility.”
