ERIE Pa. - Our trip along Rt 24 takes us to a couple neighborhood grocery stores, stores that have survived time.
Back in the day, there were grocery stores on just about every street corner in every neighborhood. These stores carried just about everything you would need, from meat to paper products to shaving cream.
Two of those neighborhood corner stores are still in business, even after 90 years. Larry's Market at W 16th & Sassafras changed with the neighborhood over the years. Keeping up with the changes and stocking shelves with the "culture" of the neighborhood has kept Larry's in business. Of course customer service is very important as well.
Same goes for Dan Serafin, Owner of Serafin's Market in the 600 block of E 24th St has been in business for more than 90 years and credits one on one customer service along with offering services like a place to pay your electric or gas bills as reasons his store has been successful for all these years.
