The coast guard has suspended the search for a woman who went missing after presumably falling overboard into Lake Erie.
According to a coast guard news release, the commander of coast guard sector buffalo announced the suspension Monday evening.
The a search that lasted almost thirty hours; covering the equivalent of more than 1,400 square miles. The search began Sunday afternoon after the coast guard received a call about a woman who had fallen overboard from a 52-foot boat on Lake Erie near Presque Isle State Park.
Crews from coast guard station Erie were joined by numerous local fire departments and aircraft from both the U.S. and Canadian coast guards.
