Three North East Twp residents dead in shooting

Two men and woman are identified

Three people are dead following what appears to be a double murder suicide in North East Township.

The shooting happened in the 10500 block of East Lake Rd, near Heath Haven Road. Police were called to the scene around 11 a.m. They found three people deceased in the front yard of a home at the end of a private drive.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, James Hemmis, 53, who lived with Teresa Maroglio, 54, shot her and 52-year-old Christopher Feucht several times as they were sitting on Feucht's porch. Police said Hemmis then turned the gun on himself.

A neighbor, James London, who lives near the scene said he heard several gunshots around 8:30 on Saturday night. The bodies were found this Sunday morning.  "About 8:30, I heard gun firing and I thought it was fireworks," said London.  "About three; four shots and didn't know what happened until this morning. Somebody found somebody that had been shot."

Trooper Cindy Owens tells us, "it's apparent that Mr. Hemmis was the shooter due to there being multiple gun shot wounds in the other two victims.  There was one gunshot to Mr. Hemmis."

State Police closed Rt 5 from Mill Street to Cemetery Rd while they investigated the crime

At this point all state police are saying is that there were three fatalities and they are not looking for a suspect.  No autopsies are scheduled in this case.
