Strong thunderstorms move through the area

Several inches of rain leads to flash floods

ERIE Pa - Several rounds of storms moving through the area Sunday caused road flooding and flooded basements.

Area fire departments have been going non-stop since 6:30p.m. Sunday when the worst of the storms began.

Several water rescues took place when drivers attempted to drive through high water and became stranded in their vehicles.

Dozens of people have called area fire departments to help pump out their basements because of flooding.

Fire crews were called to a home along Oregon Avenue after the west wall of the basement gave way, compromising natural gas lines.

The walls of another basement gave way at a home in the 900 block of West 23rd street.

At this point, no injuries have been reported because of the storm.
