erie, Pennsylvania - AUGUST 8, 2014-- The Erie County Technical Rescue Task Force aids in emergencies to help get to victims quick. The team is made up of members from volunteer emergency crews from all over the region and act as mutual aid in the event of an emergency. Officials say bringing in people who can be trained for specific rescues helps with manpower and to get to the victims as soon as possible. The team has been trained in search and rescue and specializes in high line rope rescues. The task force has already had to aid with three rescues this year and says having a team like this available in Erie is very beneficial.
