July 2, 2014 - A young boy was taken to the hospital this afternoon after the bike he was on was struck by a van.
The boy, who was reportedly not wearing a helmet was transported via Meadville Ambulance to Port Meadville to be life flighted.
The boy was struck on Baldwin Street Extention near Gill Village in West Mead Township shortly after 5:00 p.m.
Witnesses on scene stated the boy was riding along the side of the road when his bicycle swerved into traffic.
There is no word at this time as to the severity of his injuries.
West Mead Police are investigating the incident.
