Your Health: How the Drug 'Molly' Could be Dangerous


It’s a drug that has been glamorized in pop culture. Its known as a 'club drug' because of its use at raves and at the popular electric dance movement concerts.  'Molly' has been referenced by celebrities like Madonna, Miley Cyrus, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj. But it’s a dangerous drug that mixes the hallucinogenic drug known as MDMA with other synthetic chemicals. Typically sold in powder or pill form, MDMA causes hallucinations and stimulating effects. Many call it the purest form of Ecstasy, but in reality with the mix of chemicals you never know what you could be getting. Many dealers add colors to the pills and imprint them with logos to make them more appealing. Officials say there are many risks to trying the drug even just once. The drug can cause confusion, anxiety, paranoia, sleeplessness, depression and can cause users to act out. Molly can also cause dangerous dehydration. State police say crime becomes a problem for people who start using drugs.  Molly users will go to extremes to feed their addiction.
